Oracle Fusion Performance Challanges
As Pokémon’s global operations continued to expand, the company relied heavily on its Oracle Cloud ERP environment to support finance, supply chain planning and execution, and reporting processes across the business. With critical workflows running through the platform every day, maintaining system performance and reliability became increasingly important.
Over time, the organization began experiencing performance challenges within its ERP environment. As transaction volumes increased, it became more difficult to determine whether the system was properly sized to support business growth. Teams had limited visibility into the root causes of performance issues, and diagnosing problems often required time-consuming investigation. The organization also relied heavily on Oracle sizing guidance without a clear internal framework for proactively monitoring system health.
Performance Monitoring Solution
To address these challenges, Pokémon engaged R-Cubed Consulting to implement an enterprise-level ERP performance monitoring capability. R-Cubed deployed its proprietary monitoring framework within Pokémon’s existing Oracle Integration Cloud environment, enabling real-time insight into system performance without requiring significant additional licensing or infrastructure changes.
The solution established clearly defined performance tolerances across key operational areas including transaction processing, ESS jobs, application usage, and memory utilization. Service-level agreements were then aligned to these thresholds so that performance issues could be automatically identified and escalated when tolerances were exceeded.
Innovation Through AI-driven Predictive Monitoring
R-Cubed also introduced AI-driven predictive monitoring, allowing the organization to identify patterns that could signal potential performance issues before they affected users.
The engagement resulted in the creation of five monitoring dashboards that now serve as an early warning system for the IT team. With 24/7 monitoring and automated notifications, Pokémon can proactively engage Oracle support and adjust system sizing or configuration when needed.
Today, Pokémon has a structured approach to ERP performance monitoring that helps ensure the platform continues to operate efficiently as the business evolves.
