Success Story

Driving scalable commercialization at Cruise with Oracle Cloud ERP

Laying the Foundation for Growth

Cruise, General Motors’ autonomous vehicle subsidiary, was rapidly innovating—but internal systems weren’t keeping pace. Disconnected legacy tools and manual processes created operational drag, limiting Cruise’s ability to commercialize its technology at scale. As the company matured beyond its R&D roots, leadership launched a transformation initiative to unify operations and enable long-term, sustainable growth.

Modernizing with Oracle Cloud ERP

To meet this challenge, Cruise engaged R-Cubed Consulting to lead a full-scale implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud, Supply Chain Management, and Master Data Management. Replacing legacy systems like Fishbowl and Coupa, the new solution introduced streamlined, end-to-end process optimization, real-time data access, and advanced systemic controls. Automated testing and GM EDI simulation added speed and precision, while a centralized data architecture brought new clarity across departments.

Realizing Scalable Impact

The transformation enabled Cruise to move swiftly from innovation to execution. Core processes required for commercialization were accelerated. Multiple outdated systems were retired, and master data was unified under one platform—freeing teams to operate with efficiency and confidence. “R-Cubed offered invaluable expertise and support implementing Oracle ERP within record timescales,” said Len de Boer, Director of Product Operations. “Their success is driven by their focus on understanding their customer, offering flexibility, and adopting internal processes and procedures.” Today, Cruise is positioned for rapid scale, with the tools in place to lead in the competitive landscape of autonomous mobility.
